As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I was particularly struck by the creativity present in their menu offerings. The selection may be limited, but each item is deliberately crafted and bursting with flavor. The pour-over coffee I sampled was nothing short of mesmerizing, showcasing a harmony of subtle bitterness and acidity — a testament to the care taken in sourcing and preparing the beans. Pairing this with their Cookie Butter Latte and the delights of a Morning Glory Muffin elevated my experience to new heights, making it impossible not to recommend this “Hallelujah” muffin for a warming morning treat.
Breakfast options are equally enticing. From bacon egg croissants infused with fresh herbs to delectable chocolate-filled croissants and savory burritos, each dish complements the stellar coffee offerings perfectly. One visit isn't enough; the delicious almond croissant paired with a nitro cold brew topped with cold foam left me craving more.
Moreover, the customer service at Commonwealth Joe is exemplary. Patrons rave about the efficiency and friendliness of the baristas, who ensure that each order is made with precision. There are ample charging outlets for those who wish to settle in for a spell, and the eclectic vibe invites both productivity and relaxation. “ The food is super limited but what they do have is always tasty. Great customer service, order comes out pretty quickly. They have creative menu items and the seasonal stuff is always fun and unique! Love that they change up the atmosphere/decor each season, too. Makes for a fun treat to see they’ve revamped with the changing weather! ”
“ This inviting coffee shop is conveniently located next to the Whole Foods Market in Pentagon City. It features a high ceiling decorated with hanging flowers, bookshelves, and merchandise displays. The ambiance is impressive, thanks to large windows that allow plenty of natural light to fill the space. Washington City Paper has recognized this establishment as the Best Coffee Shop in Washington, D.C., for several consecutive years. The coffee exhibited a delightful balance of subtle bitterness and acidity, enhanced by the richness of the creamy milk. The breakfast croissant and savory burrito were both satisfying, while the apple Danish complemented the coffee selections. ”
“ Really cool coffee shop and eclectic vibe! Stopped by here as a first timer today and must say I was impressed. The pour-over I chose was outstanding, full-bodied, full of flavor and the customer service was great. I throughly enjoyed my pour-over and also had a Cookie Butter Latte and something called a Morning Glory Muffin during my visit. I fell in love with both the drink and muffin. OMG, it was so good....It needs to be renamed to the "Hallelujah" Muffin folks. Just try one....warmed....& thank me later! Choir voices were singing in my ears with eat bite. lol The vibe of this coffee is very eclectic, with unique seating and workspaces. The is even a mini office station and meeting space/room equipped with a printer and office supplies to assist you while taking in a bit of telework....while enjoying your coffee. Well, I'll put it this way. The perfect place to keep your productivity high. It appeared that the printer and office supplies were available for your use.....but don't quote me by it....nor the posted-note I used while there. lol. The place is completely wired and offers free WiFi connectivity as well. I will say...a couple of the outlets in the shop was broken or not working, but this is not a deterrent. Just make sure you have a back charger or something if you are stay long or need extra juice. In all, a great coffee shop and really cool atmosphere. From the great coffee products, unique work spaces, relaxing environment, on-point music flow and snacks.....this place gets two Big-Thumbs Up from me! I mean who knew!? I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and time here. I've seen this place several times when I would make a stop at the Whole Foods next-door, but never bothered to venture in and see what's inside. Well today., I found a new coffee spot in the VA area that I will be frequenting on repeat when on this side of town or in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back. ”
“ Delicious almond croissant and nitro cold brew with cold foam! A nice set of outlets for charging devices on a high top bar and overall pleasant atmosphere. ”
“ Easy five stars. You walk in, and with a the high ceilings, the white oak tables & bar stools, the bright corner windows and the seasonal decor, you get a really cool atmosphere. The baristas work carefully to make sure they get your order right. There’s an assortment of breakfast sandwiches and cakes such as : 1. Bacon egg croissant with herbs 2. Coffee cake 3. Breakfast bars 4. Chocolate filled croissant Definitely recommend! ”
“ This coffee shop is one of my favorites in the area. I really love their seasonal drinks. Good spot to study or even catch up with a friend. ”
“ Such a great spot! The decor is fresh, unique, and super cozy. Fair warning—it’s a little chilly inside, so bring a jacket if you’re not a fan of cooler spaces (personally, I loved it!). The coffee was delicious—I tried the cookie butter iced latte and you could really taste the cookie butter in every sip. 10/10 recommend! ”
“ Beautiful space, excellent coffee. The Tidewater Sunrise pour-over is a standout—fruity, smooth, and clean. The cortado is also above average—balanced and satisfying. The floral-themed decor and high ceilings create a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. A lovely spot to enjoy quality coffee and relax. The bakery selection is quite limited though. ”
